General Booking Conditions

Reservation / Payment

The room reservation is binding. Bookings are confirmed in writing. All accommodation costs are payable in ad-vance (for all fairs and special events within 14 days after receiving the confirmation, and for all others at least 14 days before the arrival day).

Payment can be made by bank transfer (bank fees, if charged, paid by guest) in favour of

Raiffeisenbank Arlesheim, Hauptstrasse 3, CH-4144 Arlesheim (Clearing: 80776 – SWIFT RAIFCH22) IBAN CH51 8080 8006 3084 9196 2 or to our post cheque account (SWIFT POFICHBEXXX), IBAN CH39 0900 0000 4025 2373 9 to the attention of bed & breakfast agency of the Basel Region GmbH, Sonnenweg 3, CH-4144 Arlesheim. Possibility to make payment with VISA, MASTERCARD + AMERICAN EXPRESS. A processing fee of 5 % will be charged if you pay by credit-card. No credit-card payment is permitted during fairs.

If a reservation is made at short notice, payment must be carried out immediately or, if necessary, directly to the guest family upon arrival (cash in CHF, no foreign currencies). If payment is not made in a timely manner, we reserve the right to reallocate the room. For unpaid accounts, following the first reminder, a fee of CHF 30.- will be charged for each subsequent reminder.

Cancellation

A one-time processing fee of Fr. 60.- is charged when a reservation is cancelled. In addition, the following pro-rata cancellation costs are payable:

For all fairs/special events:

90-61 days before arrival: 30%. 60-1 days before arrival: 80%. No show: 100%.

For all other reservations:

21–15 days before arrival: 10%. 14–8 days before arrival: 20%. 7–1 days before arrival: 30 %. No-show: 100%.

The date on which the Bed & Breakfast Agency receives the cancellation notice is the date applicable when calculating the above-mentioned time limits. Only business days are valid, not weekends or holidays.

Changes in the Booking

Under exceptional circumstances, the Bed & Breakfast Agency reserves the right to offer another room in the same category with equal comfort. If the alternative accommodation is cheaper, the client will receive the difference. If the alternative accommodation is in the same category but is more expensive, the Bed & Breakfast Agency will ab-sorb the additional costs. Should the alternative accommodation be in a more expensive category, the client will be responsible for the additional costs. However, the client has the right to withdraw from the contract without having to pay any charges. If this should be the case, the client must advise the Bed & Breakfast Agency within three days.

Extension of Stay and Premature Departure

No refunds are made if clients vacate their rooms earlier than originally planned. The Bed & Breakfast Agency must be notified if clients wish to prolong their stay. An extension is only possible if the accommodation is still available.

Services

The offer of the Bed & Breakfast Agency Basel contains a room or an apartment at the quoted price. Bed linens and towels are provided and are changed regularly. For bookings on a daily basis, general cleaning is included in the price. In certain properties, a cleaning fee is charged separately (and mentioned in the offer). If breakfast is in-cluded, then a simple Swiss breakfast will be provided.

Check-In / Check-Out

Check-in time must be arranged directly with the host-family. Please advise the host family of your exact arrival time at least some days in advance. Rooms must be vacated by 10.00 a.m. on the day of departure.

Complaints, Liabilities, Damages, Visitors

Complaints should be submitted immediately in writing to the Bed & Breakfast Agency. The Agency is not liable for disappearance of valuables. If you make any damage at the location of your guest family, please let them know immediately and pay them directly. Ask your guest family before you receive any visitors.

Applicable Law and Legal Domicile

Swiss law is applicable. Court of jurisdiction is Arlesheim.
